Once upon a time, in Lake Havasu City, AZ, some individuals that had a common interest in flying radio controlled model airplanes got together and formed an organization. Their needs were many, a place to fly was of paramount importance so they moved about the community in search of just such a place. Finally they settled into a park that was well suited to their needs. A flying field was built in this park and an agreement was made with the leaders of the community to keep it open to visitors.
Havasu is in what is called "the green belt", so many people come and stay for the winter months. These winter visitors are lovingly referred to as "Snowbirds"and many of them enjoy flying radio controlled airplanes, so they joined this club that was formed. and the membership grew.
